Social Conservatism
I support the principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence.
It states, We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
I believe in these principles and feel privileged to enjoy the freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution. I feel a strong need to do my part to keep our country free. We should be grateful for the freedom to worship as we please and we should respect the right of all people to believe or not to believe in a Creator.
Together we can recognize that the foundation of all society is the family, and that marriage is an institution which protects life and strengthens families.
Communities and families can not be replaced by programs. Governments should actively work to strengthen the family unit, protect innocent human life, and promote peace.
National Conservatism
I believe that America should remain a strong and independent country. I believe that when America is strong, our interactions with other countries benefit and our foreign relations efforts accomplish more.
I strongly support free trade and cooperation toward common goals, but I do not support the creation of unelected and unaccountable international bodies which dictate policy to American citizens.
America is also unacceptably dependent on other nations for our energy needs. This dependence weakens us economically and results in wars and sending American money to countries who work against peace and freedom. I support taking active steps to regain American energy independence.
