Craig Williams calls Senator Murray Inconsistent on Corporate Political Spending

Senator Patty Murray issued a statement yesterday criticizing the Supreme Court’s recent ruling concerning corporate political spending. In her statement she called the ruling a “mistake” and expressed that “Wall Street, big insurance and corporate boardrooms should never have more power or a louder voice than American families and voters”.

Vancouver, WA January 22, 2010 – Craig Williams, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate today issued this statement concerning Senator Patty Murray’s criticism of Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling concerning corporate political spending.

“Senator Murray’s criticism of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling is wholly inconsistent with her campaign taking millions of dollars in corporate PAC money. You can’t call the ruling a “mistake” and then put both hands out to accept corporate campaign money.

This is exactly the type of political gamesmanship that voters rejected in Massachusetts and precisely why we need a change in Washington’s Senatorial leadership. Senator Murray needs to stop bailing out “Wall Street, big insurance and corporate boardrooms” and stop taking their PAC donations before criticizing their influence on the democratic process.”
